The Kupper organization has served public and private owners as Engineers, Planners, Surveyors and Construction Managers since 1924. In June 2008, Kupper Associates merged with Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. (JMT). Services within Kupper’s existing market are provided through Kupper, LLC, a New Jersey subsidiary of JMT.
Founded in 1971, JMT is a 100% employee-owned firm that provides a full range of multi-disciplined engineering, architectural, technology and related services to public agencies and private clients throughout the United States. We encourage you to visit JMT’s website at www.jmt.com.
Kupper's staff is comprised of professional engineers of various disciplines; licensed public water supply system and public water treatment plant operators; licensed public sewage treatment plant and collection system operators; certified engineering technicians; licensed land surveyors; and drafters skilled in CADD (Computer Aided Drafting and Design) and GIS (Geographic Information Systems). In addition, we employ environmentalists proficient in wetlands delineation, environmental assessment and permitting.
Unlike many consultants, Kupper employs a staff of full-time resident engineers and inspectors. As a group, this Construction Services Division averages over 20 years of construction experience, dealing on a day-to-day basis with contractors, client personnel, and governmental and regulatory agencies. Most of our construction personnel are long-time Kupper employees.
Kupper, LLC takes great pride in its staff development and employment policies. As a result of its progressive practices, Kupper was selected by the National Society of Professional Engineers to receive its 1995 Private Practice Professional Development Award.
Kupper, LLC is supported by the resources of the entire JMT organization. Together, the combined firm has a staff of more than 700 professionals with offices in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and Florida.
Kupper, LLC emphasizes strong project management. Kupper's professionals use a variety of integrated systems for the purpose of controlling time, cost and quality on a project. These include networks showing the relationships and durations of activities required for project completion; computerized databases for maintaining a uniform cost estimating framework from project inception through construction; and specifications and procedures directed at achieving the reviews, inspections and tests necessary to verify compliance with design criteria, code/industry standards and permit conditions.
Another important element of project management involves permitting and approvals. Kupper personnel recognize the importance of identifying permits, approvals and clearances at the outset of the project; defining agency requirements; and incorporating submission dates and review times into the project management plan.
